In general, children are counted as 11 and below and each component of the trip have a different policy toward children.

If you stay at hotel or resort and cruises in Halong Bay, they will charge as follows:
Children under 4 years old will be free of charge.
Children from 4 year old to 11 year old will be charged 75% price of adult.
Children from 12 years old will be charged full price of adult

We stop around half-way for guests to enjoy a bathroom break, stretch their legs and for the drivers to freshen up and remain focused and have lunch. We follow the international safety recommendations of a break after approximately 2 hours of driving.

For my experience, you should not! Because when you bring your own drink on boat, you will be charged fees of 30usd – 35usd/spirit or wine, 3usd/beer or soft drink or soft water. Meanwhile, the bartender on the boat is also available 24/24 hours to serve you.
