1. Chinatown

3. Wat Pho

Wat Pho, or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is known for the giant Buddha that is at its center. The religious image is massive, 46 meters long and 15 meters high. However, the temple is equipped with much more to see besides this huge sculpture, even if it is the focal point of the temple grounds. In addition to Buddha, visitors will find colorful murals that illustrate more than 400 Buddha images. The chedis, a colorful Chinese pavilion and a traditional Thai massage school stand out in the field. There is an entry fee of 100 THB.

4. Wat Arun

Wat Arun, or the Temple of Dawn, is located on the western shores of the Chao Phraya River in the ancient capital of Thonburi. This name was given by King Taksin, who arrived at the structure at dawn. The temple is home to five towers, which can be seen from the river. These are covered with vibrant porcelain and colorful ceramic tiles, many of which are made to look like pieces of foliage. The reclining Buddha found in Wat Pho used to be in Wat Arun. Admission to the temple is 50 THB.

5. Wat Traimit

A few steps from Yaowarat Road is Wat Traimit, one of the most prominent temples of the capital. The impressive building is home to a 5.5 ton Buddha. The Sukhothai style statue is almost 15 feet tall. The Buddha could be worth a fortune, but the entrance fee to see it only costs 40 THB  (1.2 dollar)

6. Chao Phraya River
