On arrival, your private driver will pick you up at the airport to drive you to the hotel. You will have the rest of the day to do as you please till bed-time. Overnight in your hotel.
After breakfast, we will pick you up at the hotel in a sturdy 4 × 4. We will start our tour visiting the traditional market of Tulikup, where we will see first hand the daily life of the Balinese people. In the village of Kedui we will see how a man climbs for us to the top of a coconut tree with only his feet and hands, to pick up a sweet coconut wine that he elaborates on the top of the tree and to bring us a sample to taste it. We will continue through the Giant Bamboo Forest until we reach a plantation, where we will know the plants from which many Indonesian spices come. We will also get to know the most expensive coffee in the world, Café Luwak, thanks to the help in the coffee beans process of a nice animal, the Luwak. After a delicious lunch in a restaurant overlooking the volcano and the lake of Batur, in Kintamani. We will continue to the Temple of Bubung Renteng. Then, we will walk for about 100m of short trekking to have an unbeatable panoramic view of the Batur volcano and its lake, and we will climb again aboard our Jeep to ascend a mountain road, with panoramic views of the Agung and Batur volcanoes. We will arrive to the village of Suter, where a man who still manufactures handmade knives keeping an old tradition. Before arriving back to the hotel, we will make a final stop at the Banyan Tree, one of the sacred trees for the Balinese. Night at the hotel
We will go deep into the tropical jungle of Bali. Through interactive hints and explanations of your guide, you will learn about the nature and structure of the tropical jungle. Halfway, we will have a coffee while listening to the song of tropical birds and wild insects. After going through a river with volcanic rocks and ancient trees, we will relax having a delicious lunch overlooking the beautiful rice fields of Jatiluwih.
Prepare your swimsuits because today in the early morning a driver will transfer you from your hotel to the tropical forest of Bali, where you will go rafting down the river (easy level). Enjoy the dense tropical nature of Bali, surprised by the wonderful landscape, the animals and tropical birds that come to the river to drink and hunt. Afterwards you will enjoy a delicious lunch served at the rafting facilities and you will be returned to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day off.
We will begin our day trip by visiting the Goa Lawah Temple, also known as the “Temple of the Bats”, due to the thousands of bats that hang from its roof. We will continue our visit to Kerta Gosa, or Palace of Justice of Klungkung, where we will find representations in frescoes of the life of the Balinese, as well as of their Gods. We will continue with our visit to the Temple of Besakih, also known as “Mother Temple”, since it is located on the slope of the Agung volcano, the highest and most sacred mountain in Bali. The Balinese believe that the Gods came from there. We will end our day discovering what a traditional Balinese village was like in ancient times. We can enter their homes, in the village of Penglipuran. Finally, return to your hotel or villa.
Today Bali is already too touristy in many areas, so we need to delve into the authentic Bali! That Bali that our grandparents discovered … But for this we need our Land Rovers collection (4×4), equipped with a powerful engine and a modern structure to access roads that a normal car could not pass. We also open the window of the roof of the 4×4 so we can look out standing up. After picking you up at your hotel, we will go to the small village of Pejaten, where we will see the curious process of making tiles for Balinese houses, made manually and cooked with coconut bark. Next, we will visit a ceramics factory renowned worldwide for its fine quality and its beautiful details.
We will continue our tour to see the local lifestyle in the market of Kerambitan and the artifical lake of Telaga Tunjung, where we will learn about the complex water irrigation system. We will then go through cocoa plantations. We will rest briefly in a traditional house of a Balinese family, who will welcome us with a big smile and invite us to drink Bali coffee and traditional Balinese sweets. On the meanwhile they will explain us the curious structure of a Balinese house. We will proceed with our tour, visiting more beautiful rice fields, until we reach the Tamba Waras Temple, built in the XV century, when the king of Tabanan got sick. He sent here a person to meditate and get inspiration to find a cure. Mysteriously, under a giant bamboo, he saw some smoke and a sacred water spring, which he used as a medicine to finally cure his king. Tamba means medicine and Waras means health. We will then pass through beautiful rice fields, until we reach the famous Rice Fields of Jatiluwih, named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, where we will have lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the beautiful rice fields of Jatiluwih and transfer to one of The best and most elegant Balinese Spas, where you will enjoy a Relaxing Balinese Traditioal Massagne of 60Min per Person * FREE *. You will have the possibility to choose an optional activity such as: Rafting on the Ayung River, to discover nature from a different point of view; Enjoying a professional traditional massage in a Spa with Balinese oils; Trekking in elephant through the tropical forest of Bali; 1st Diving class in the wonderful Sanur; Cruise to the idyllic island of Lembogan, a whole day of enjoyment in the sea (catamaran) and the beach, or even rent a vehicle to move on your own around the island.
